Bullying Procedure
Dealing with incidents of bullying
Staff will make sure that each child has an opportunity to talk through what has happened and avoid making judgements where the truth cannot be established.
Staff will help the children acknowledge what has taken place and look at what needs to be done to repair the damage or hurt. Action against bullying should occur within the context that reminds all children that bullying behaviour is unacceptable to the setting and will not be tolerated.
Staff will check with involved children that there is no reoccurrence of the bullying behaviour.
All allegations of bullying behaviour will be reported to the setting manager who will inform the parent/carer.
Monitoring
All staff are responsible for following up incidents and allegations of bullying - concerns should be shared promptly with the setting manager and a incident form completed.
Logged behaviour incidents will be closely monitored in order that patterns of bullying behaviour can be identified and dealt with promptly.
